A very yin season.

Here we are already. A new month and a new season. Winter. Colder and darker mornings and evenings. As nature around us changes, this can be a good reminder that we are of the Earth and we change with the seasons too.

Winter might symbolize more resting, restoring, hibernating, slowing down the pace of life. The season could mean more moments of stillness, less doing, more being, more listening. It could even be the sense of turning inward for more introspection.

Instead of trying to resist these natural cues we get from nature, what if we leaned into them instead?

In fact, winter is a very yin season. The reminder for us that it is okay to slow down and rest. That time in stillness isn’t wasted, but necessary. Just like flowers don’t bloom all year round, neither do we. We need time to nourish ourselves and rest to make growth possible throughout the rest of the year.

Every season of your life and every season in nature has a purpose. Together they all fit for a greater sense of balance and harmony.

What might this season look like for you this year? How can you lean into this winter yin energy in your own life?
